Partial Dentures

A partial denture is a removable appliance replacing one or additional lost (or removed) original teeth. It is held in position by being expertly made and set up to enhance fit and stability in the majority of presentations with the help of retainers (clasps) on a few natural teeth. We attempt to conceal the clasps and in certain circumstances we can use clear clasps or tooth shaded clasps. Most advanced denture products are nowadays lightweight and sturdy.

Our treatment method focus for partial dentures is to assimilate man-made and natural teeth with each other so its practically undetected which are the fabricated teeth and which are the original teeth.

In most instances removable partial dentures are offered in several kinds of bases, pink or clear acrylic, metal cobalt chrome (silver in colour) or pink flexible bases. With a metal frame denture the denture teeth are set in pink acrylic to help assimilate with the all-natural pink colour of the gums.

A partial denture is produced to provide ultimate aesthetic look results and function.

Partial Denture Analysis

We like our partial denture patients to have seen their dental practice recently to ensure the natural teeth are in good condidtion prior to making an all new denture. If you do not have a regular dental practice, we can refer you to a local dentist and our Elsternwick denture clinic has dental practices nearby.

Once your partial denture is made we like to maintain it for you. We can tighten the clasps to improve fit over time and clean your denture for you . Take note that if you break your denture please do not try to fix your denture with standard adhesive like super glue from the hardware store (yes this actually does happen) . It can make rebuilding a broken or cracked denture more pricey if you try to repair your dentures at home.
